Seeing the way God uses color in his creation inspires my art and gives me a clearer view of His love for me and you. I'm inspired by the sparks of emotion I feel when I see color, and I hope you feel those sparks when you view my work.

Fourth of July in San Diego!

We had a great Fourth of July weekend!

On Friday, Chris and  I went on a sea kayaking tour in La Jolla, CA. It was a cold, overcast day but we had fun anyway. We got really close to a group of sea lions and got to go inside a really neat cave.

Saturday morning, we drove 2 hours up the coast to Laguna Beach to visit with Chris' bud, Joel. Chris and Joel were roommates at USNA and Joel is now in San Diego for Navy SEAL training. Joel's family lives in Laguna and this is the view from the end of their street. Just gorgeous!

That afternoon we headed over to the Ricketson household. We had fun playing water balloon volleyball with their family until Mrs. R and I both stepped on bees within 10 minutes of each other! That put a little damper on that game. We ate some perfect flank steak and then headed out for fireworks!

We spent the night at Joel's house and the boys hit the beach for some surfing in the morning. After showers and some breakfast, we headed to church and then back down the coast to San Diego. All in all, 'twas a fun weekend and we were blessed to be able to spend the time with some welcoming families when we couldn't be with our own.

Home sweet home!
