Seeing the way God uses color in his creation inspires my art and gives me a clearer view of His love for me and you. I'm inspired by the sparks of emotion I feel when I see color, and I hope you feel those sparks when you view my work.

My first diaper bag was a massive bright blue handmade canvas bag that had one messenger style shoulder strap, and dug into my shoulders while I filled it to the max with every possible thing a baby could need or want.

Since then, I've become much better about paring down on the "essentials", and also narrowing in on what I like in a bag. I carried Lily Jade bags for close to four years, and they are gorgeous, very well-made, and convenient to use with their separate bag organizer and convertible straps.

But I was ready to move on to something a little smaller and more streamlined.

I've been carrying the

Lorimer backpack from Madewell

for 5 months now, and I'm in LOVE. Everything about it perfectly fits my needs and wants. I purchased it in November during a Black Friday sale, but I would gladly pay full price now if I needed to.

It's made of Italian leather, with a beautiful caramel color (also comes in black) that is very durable and has held up beautifully.

It has one large zipper pocket on the outside, as well as a small zippered pocket inside, and two small open pockets inside as well. Perfect for corralling lipsticks, hair bows, ear buds and my phone.

The backpack straps are thin, but surprisingly comfortable.

The zippers were a bit tough to use at first, but it hasn't been an issue, and they have held up well to plenty of tugging.

My

SkipHop Pronto changing pad

fits perfectly inside, with room for much more.

(PS. LOVE the Pronto changing pad. Just the right size, a carrying handle and handy pockets for healing balm and wipes! I've linked to the pattern we have above! )

Here's what I fit inside:

+

Skip Hop Pronto changing pad

+wallet ( fits nicely in the front pocket)

+ sunglasses case and sunglasses

+ 2-4 hair bows for the girls

+ 2 Burt's Bees lipsticks and a Beauty Counter lip balm

+ ear buds (for listening to podcasts while grocery shopping)

+ hand sanitizer

+ a book if I'm feeling ambitious, or in case of car naps

+ usually a scarf, and a discarded toddler hat

+ snacks

+ and still room to fit store purchases or anything else that needs to be lugged about

So, bottom line:

I couldn't recommend the

Lorimer backpack

more. It's stylish, classic, quality and fits everything I need. Thumbs way up.
